The Oconee Economic Alliance (OEA) continues to monitor the progress of several projects that are taking place throughout the county. We are excited to share those updates with you as they happen.
One of the more visible projects currently underway is the development of Casto’s “Hartwell Village,” the mixed-use retail center on Highway 123 just before entering Clemson. Announced retailers include Marshalls, Ulta Beauty, Michael’s, Rack Room Shoes, and Five Below, as well as a Tru by Hilton hotel.
After moving over 1 million cubic yards of dirt within the Oconee Industry and Technology park off of Hwy 11, the new Tri-County Technical College campus is taking shape. The opening date for this campus is set for August of 2018.
The Golden Corner Commerce Park is getting attention with the addition of a new entrance road. The OEA was successful in securing $391,000 in state C Funds to pay for the grading and installation of the road, which will completed in early Q2 of 2018.
Two of our local industries are in the process of constructing buildings. Nason, a leader in space-efficient electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components is nearing completion of an addition to their building on Highway 11.
PVS Sensors, a manufacturer of pressure, vacuum, temperature, and differential switches, is erecting a new building next to Dynamic Fluids on Blue Ridge Blvd. in West Union.
It is great to see these construction projects making substantial progress throughout our community. It is a testimony to our story on why Oconee County is the ‘geography of opportunity” in Upstate South Carolina.
