Vermon NDT is locating a new sales and small-scale manufacturing operation in Walhalla, South Carolina. The Oconee Economic Alliance, through its Tri-County Entrepreneurial Development Corporation (TCEDC), helped to facilitate this location decision that will yield new jobs and investment for the area.
Vermon is headquartered in Tours, France and will be opening a “soft landing” type operation within the Oconee Business Center in downtown Walhalla. This county-owned space provides small-scale industrial flex space and offices for both entrepreneurs and international firms looking to start small in their business approach.
Vermon NDT is a leader in 1-3 piezoelectric composite technology development and industrialization to enhance ultrasound transducers. Vermon designs, produces and controls all probe acoustic components, manufacturing tools and technologies. This will be their first U.S. location.
“Special thanks to Dave Eldridge, chair of TCEDC, for leading the charge to help Vermon solidify their decision in opening a new location in Oconee County,” stated Richard K. Blackwell, executive director of the Oconee Economic Alliance. “A location decision like this speaks volumes to our county’s business climate and strong manufacturing base to have this French company set up shop. It will be exciting to watch them grow from here.”
